I am hopping along today with Stampin' demos and papercrafters for the Crafty Collaborations Share it Sunday Blog Hop!
The layout of this card was inpsired by my upline Michelle Last. Michelle shared her card on instagram, check it out here.
I am pretty sure Michelle mentioned on her story who inspired her card but I can't honestly remember the papercrafter she took the inspiration from.
I was the lucky recipient of the card that Michelle created that she shared on Instagram.
It was a thank you for being the challenge coordinator of her team called the Pinkies. I run challenges twice a month and am excited to be heading into my third year in the role.
I am sure I will use this layout again, so I've created a sketch template to keep.
Feel free to pin this to Pinterest!
I recently placed a large order from the Stampin' Up! Annual catalogue.
When I opened the Abigail Rose DSP, the Smoky Slate patterned paper I've used in my card today just stood out and I couldn't wait to use it.
I love the neutral tones of this paper and exited to use some of the warmer tones as I haven't worked with these colours in a while.
The colours in this DSP are Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Petal Pink, Smoky Slate and Very Vanilla.
Once I had decided on the DSP, in my creative mind, there was no other option than to make this a monochrome card. The neutral tones are just dreamy....
I chose a Smoky Slate card based but to add some light, I added a Basic White layer, then added another layer of Smoky Slate on top.
Here are the dimensions:
- Smoky Slate card base: 29.8cm x 10.5cm, scored at 14.9cm
- Basic White layer is: 9.7cm x 14.1cm
- Smoky Slate layer is: 9.4cm x 13.8cm
- DSP strips: 8.5cm x 1.3cm
On top of the DSP strips is a piece of the Vellum Layering Designs, which has been die cut with the stitched circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies. I chose a piece of vellum that had white text, knowing it would suit this project perfectly.
I stamped the flower in Versamark ink onto Smoky Slate cardstock and heat embossed it in white. The flower has been stamped using the Cottage Rose stamp set and has been die cut with the Cottage Flowers dies. Both of these stamp sets coordinate with the Abigail Rose patterned paper.
To finish my card, I added a few of the Heart Pearls. I selected the opaque matt pearls which Stampin Up call "milky white". They are absolutely gorgeous and a must have for your embellishment collection, if you don't have them already!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!
Now it's time to check out the other projects in the blog hop!
