I'm going to be sharing four last minute blog posts of projects I've created with a mix of products either from the retiring Stampin' Up! mini catalogue or the new Stampin' Up! annual catalogue.
I wanted to do something a bit different with the dies from the Brilliant Rainbow dies so I decided to go with a monochrome look but highlight different textures of Pool Party.
Starting from the biggest arch of the rainbow, I have used
- Standard Pool Party cardstock.
- Basic White cardstock stamped in Pool Party ink, using the Flowing Flowers stamp set
- Supple Shimmer specialty paper (in Pool Party)
- Basic White cardstock stamped in Pool Party ink, using the Flowing Flowers stamp set
I am really pleased how this turned out. Although I just can't believe both the Flowing Flowers stamp set and Brilliant Rainbow dies are retiring at the end of this month, it's such a shame so I do hope you've managed to get these added to your crafty stash.
My card has a Pool Party card base.
Using foam dimensionals, I've added a label in Basic White cardstock die cut using the Scalloped Contour dies.
The proportions of the Scalloped Contour dies suited my rainbow perfectly - it was like they were made to go together!
I lined up both ends of the rainbow so there was a small border of white around the outside. There was a feint line created by the die that I could follow, which was useful for accurate alignment.
I used the Sending Smiles bundle for the sentiment.
There are lots of combinations of sentiments you can create based around the large 'Sending' stamp or die from the Sending Smiles stamp set and Sending dies.
I decided to die cut 'Sending' from the Supplier Shimmer Specialty cardstock and the ink I have used for the rest of the sentiment is, yep.... you guessed it, Pool Party!
I chose the phrase 'Sending a note to say hello'. It's great to have cards like this on stand by to send to a friend.
Can you believe, the Polished Dots are also retiring - why!!!! They are BEAUTIFUL!
I was adding some randomly and then decided to follow the arch of the rainbow. Hopefully you can make them out in this photo.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!
