Here Together

Here's one last project using some products that are retiring today from Stampin' Up!

Don't worry though - the Hand Penned Petals stamp set is not going anywhere and I'm glad as I've really enjoyed creating different looks with it recently.

Sadly the Here Together stamp set is retiring today. Personally I am disappointed this was a limited time product and would have liked it to have been available in the Annual Catalogue.

There are several diversity inclusive supportive statements within the stamp set that  I think are wonderful. Also the coordinating Here For You dies (which I haven't used in this project) cut out key images from the stamp set. Needless to say, this set will be remaining in my crafty collection and I may continue to share projects using it.

I shared this project in the #PapercraftersUniteAgainstRacism Instagram hop that I've been participating in every 3 months since January 2021. I don't usually share the projects on my blog as I often use products from other craft companies and I only share Stampin' Up! projects I've created on here.

If you'd like to participate in this hop, please get in touch and I will send you a link to join. A fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator friends runs this hop and encourages papercrafters using any brands to take part. The next one is likely to be in July 2022.

If you click on this link #PapercraftersUniteAgainstRacism you will see all the projects from all of the hops. Make sure you take some time to read what everyone is saying as there are some important messages and also areas to help you grow your awareness.

For this hop, I wanted to create something more bright and cheerful than my previous projects and the day before the Insta Hop, I was using these colours - Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green and So Saffron for an Ink Stamp Share blog hop colour challenge. With these colours still in my mind I created this card combining the colour challenge with this very important message.

I used 4 labels die cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies to create these 4 blocks. Two of which I have heat embossed in black two statements 'We'll get through this together' and 'I promise'. Both are from the Here Together stamp set. I love the font's they've used - and the black embossing just makes it pop from the colours on this card.

I stamped the main flower image using the Hand Penned Petals stamp set and used the stamps to add some colours. With my Brights DSP background of Melon Mambo, I wanted to tie this colour in but not be over powering so I chose So Saffron for the main colour of the flower. Once I was happy, I used the Penned Flowers dies to cut out the image.

If you are a follower of my blog you may recall me saying in one of my YouTube tutorials that I struggled with the stamps that filled in the outline of the flowers. They don't fit perfectly.... and they are not meant to. Once I understood that and appreciated the bits of white showing through, my OCD self was much happier stamping with them.

To finish my card I added a scattering of Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I love how they work with any colours you use.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!
