Celebrating a milestone

I am celebrating a milestone today!
Thank you to all my subscribers and followers as you have helped me reach 500,000 views on my blog Handmade by Kim!
I started this papercraft blog way back in 2014... having blogged regularly for a few years, joining blog hops and entering into papercraft challenges, I took a longer than planned break from both crafting and blogging when life got a bit busy. I stopped blogging in 2017 and then restarted my blog in 2020 and haven't stopped since.

My blog has gone through several different looks since then, I think this is the fourth style and I still really love it. If you are visiting for the first time perhaps take a little look around. Below the header is a menu and various gallery sections that group all my cards together either by year or by theme. I'm also active on social media channels, mostly Instagram, Pinterest and I have a few videos on YouTube too.

Unfortunately my phone has been sent away to be repaired again so these were the best photos I could get with my spare phone.

To celebrate, I decided to spend this morning crafting!

I've thoroughly enjoyed this Easter bank holiday weekend and there is still one day to go! In addition to some crafting, I've done loads of things I love - cooking, gardening, shopping, upcycled some furniture, I had an Elemis home facial, watched my favourite TV series, I've had some a few (much needed) lie ins, I've spent time with my cats.

Tomorrow my husband and I are going to one of our favourite farm shops in Devon for breakfast, then possibly a trip to the beach and then to Ikea to pick up a new piece of furniture for my craft room.

I decided to make a Squash Card for the first time!

I resized my card so I could create it from one sheet of A4 (I didn't want to cut into a piece of 12x12 if I really didn't need to). My piece of cardstock measure 8" x 8".

It makes me so happy when I am working with colours and patterns that I love.

So naturally I opted for one of my all-time favourite colour combination - Basic White, Pool Party, Basic Black and combined it with the fabulous Pattern Party DSP that I adore for it's striking black and white monochrome patterns.

The card opens out like this. When folded back into a smaller square, it is kept closed by the Pool Party Sheer ribbon.

I decided to keep the triangle sections of DSP quite subtle to keep the focus on the hand stamped panels. I've used different patterned DSP for both of my cards so they are totally unique.

I've used the Hand Penned Petals stamp set for the flowers on the outside and inside of this fancy fold card. For the sentiment I've used the Biggest Wish stamp set. I've stamped in Memento Black in and Pool Party ink. For the flowers I've have drawn an outline using my Pool Party Dark and Light Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

For the front of the card I used the Layering Circles dies underneath a die cut of the Hand Penned Petals stamp. I used the Penned Petals dies to do this.

For my embellishment, I added Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels. These are only available while stocks last! I am debating getting another pack for my crafty stash.

Thanks again to all my subscribers and followers for following my papercraft journey.

I appreciate not every project will be to your taste but I do hope you've found some inspiration here or found my small selection of video tutorials useful.

I might make a video tutorial for this card at some point. Please let me know if you'd like one in the comments section below.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!
