A Peaceful Place Christmas Card

Monday, 18 October 2021 United Kingdom

It's been a while since I've played along with the papercraft challenges over at CASology. This week I am taking part in challenge 396 which is to create a card using this cue card.

These days, I rarely get to play along with many challenges as I often don't have a lot of time to craft. Some weekends I manage to get a day in my craft room and as long as I'm feeling creative, I'll come out with several cards that I release on my blog over a number of weeks.

I am going to try to find more time to craft and join in on more of these challenges as having a brief challenges me and provides direction when I'm not feel very creative and need some encouragement.

The team over at CASology suggest your entry should have
  • One main image
  • Lots of open space, uncluttered
  • Limited layers & embellishments
I think my card meets the brief? I am huge fan of white space but whilst my card doesn't feature this - I do feel it is uncluttered, has one main image and has limited layer and embellishments.

I love the starry night sky pattern and just had to pair it with the beautiful snowy tree scene from the Peaceful Place DSP from Stampin' Up!

I literally die cut the tree scene from the patterned paper using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I think the stitching detail adds the right amount of interest.

This is exactly what I thought of when I saw the 'view' cue card.

As you can see, the patterned paper has a silver foil effect so I added my sentiments, which I stamped using the Heartfelt Wishes stamp set and heat embossed them in silver to tie into the overall look of the card.

A simple bow from silver trim and a rhinestone strategically placed finishes my card.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!
