Share It Sunday Blog Hop

Sunday, 25 July 2021 United Kingdom

Today we are bringing you the Craft Collaborations 'Share it Sunday' Blog Hop providing you with lots inspiration for your papercraft projects!

I'm Kim and I live in Somerset in the UK and I'm joining this hop along with Stampin' Up! demonstrators and papercrafters from all over the world!

I'm sharing with you the first card I've created with the watercolouring technique using Stampin' Blends, Vellum and Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9%

You can Google Stampin' Blends rubbing alcohol background technique for more examples!

I started with some bold colours but after I got the hang of it I naturally leaned towards my favourites and combined Highland Heather, Pool Party and Balmy Blue.

There are loads of tutorials on YouTube showing you how to create this wonderful look using this fun technique.

I coloured sections of Vellum with different colour Stampin' Blends (using both dark and light for variation). I then added Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% using a small paintbrush.

I had an old hair dye bottle that I used to push the ink around but I've since purchased an air blower to give me a helping hand.

I kept adding colour where it was needed and more alcohol until I achieved the look that I wanted. It didn't take long to dry when I was finished.

I've kept everything 'soft' by using these subtle pastel colours and added a little bit of sparkle with the Opal Rounds.

I coloured a scrap of Vellum with my Stampin' Blends before die cutting the butterfly using the Brilliant Wings dies.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!
