Lovely You Stampin' Up!

I created this card for two creative challenges - this weeks Global Design Project challenge #GDP255 and a colour challenge on the Facebook group for the Pinkies team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators.

Global Design Project #GDP255

The Global Design Project theme is trees and leaves - so I used the Lovely You stamp set from Stampin' Up! as the main feature of my card.

The colours for this weeks Pinkies Team Challenge are Seaside Spray, Sahara Sand and Petal Pink - all three colours are beautiful individually and together.

I enjoy working with soft, subtle colours but it still took me a little while to work out how I was going to combine these together for the colour challenge.

Lovely You Stampin' Up!

I stamped several images from the Lovely You stamp set onto Seaside Spray, Sahara Sand and Petal Pink cardstock. I used Versamark Ink and applied White Embossing Powder which I set with my heat tool.

I trimmed each of the three pieces so the width was approximately a third of the size of the matt I wanted to create.

Next I took a piece of cardstock and covered it in Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue and added each piece of embossed cardstock to this, making sure there were no gaps in between each colour. I then used my mini guillotine to trim it to size. Trimming all four sides made sure all of the edges were straight - to appear if they were originally one piece of card.

The sentiment has been stamped in Sahara Sand ink and is from the Tasteful Touches stamp set and the die I used is from the Tasteful Labels dies.

I added a few Champagne Rhinestones - they suit these colours perfectly.

I am really pleased with the end result - I'm definitely going to use this technique again!
