Stampin' Up! Boho Indigo

Today I have project number 4 for you from my Boho Indigo DSP Series! A simple yet effective home decor project - a 'Welcome' picture frame for your guest room!

I recently picked up this frame from our local B&M Store for a bargain £2 - I thought it was the perfect colour match for the Boho Indigo patterned paper.

I have toyed with the idea of adding more to the decoration and have played around with various die cuts and embellishments but I wasn't keen, so I stuck with it and decided that 'less is more'.

The frame area is 7" by 5" so I cut a piece of Very Vanilla this size. I then cut the patterned paper I selected to 6" by 4" and placed this on top of the Very Vanilla. I felt it needed more so I cut an additional two layers with super thin borders - a Misty Moonlight layer of  6 1/8" by 4 1/8" and a Very Vanilla layer of 6 1/16" by 4 1/16". I feels this adds depth without me having to use dimensionals.

I die cut the word 'Welcome' in Misty Moonlight from the Well Written dies and adhered this to a die cut circle that I had embossed with the Subtles embossing folder. It's difficult to see in my photographs but it adds some much needed texture.

Next I layered this circle onto another 2 circles die cut from Very Vanilla - one stitched and one scalloped. I considered adding a Misty Moonlight circle into the mix but I didn't like it so off it went into my box of unused die cuts. Do you have one of those?

I hope today's project has inspired you to find any unused picture frames lying around and make something lovely for your home.

Last year I made a home decor project using the Sailing Home stamp set. This was for our other guest room which has a nautical theme. It says 'The Wifi Code is ......' and is really useful for when guests come to stay and want to connect their devices. It really suits the room which I've decorated with various items we've picked up when holidaying in Cornwall and seaside resorts abroad.
