Happy Birthday card using Blendabilities™

Friday, 5 September 2014

Stampin’ Blendabilites Markers are alcohol-based marker sets that come in a 3-pack of light, medium and dark shades (of the same colour). They can provide your projects a more saturated look with blended colours.

I wanted to share with you my first attempt at colouring with the Blendabilites markers. Its definitely a case of practice will make perfect (for me) with this technique!

The pictures below show the different stages of blending, so you can see how its come together.

I think this technique gives the flower a 3D effect, however, on my next attempt, I will definitely focus more on the blending and will see what I can achieve with starting with the lightest colour first!

Stampin' Up! has recommended using Whisper White Cardstock with your Blendabilites, and because traditional alcohol markers require a bit of training, they have developed a few videos to ensure that Blendabilites are easy-to-use for everyone!

Here is a link to one of the videos taking you through the basic techniques. You can find more videos on the Stampin' Up! Youtube channel. To view these, just click on the Youtube icon at the top or bottom of the page.

I am going to give the videos a watch and will give this technique another go.

I would love to see your colouring with Blendabilites - please post a link to you photos under comments!
